Male Breast Reduction

Affecting almost 40-60 percent of men, gynecomastia or "women-like breasts" is a common condition. For men who feel self-conscious of their chest appearance, this surgery may be just what they need. It will remove fat, glandular tissue, and sometimes, excess skin if necessary, resulting in a flatter, firmer, more contoured and desirable chest.

The Procedure
If excess glandular tissue is the primary cause then it can be excised or cut off with a scalpel, and may be accompanied by liposuction. If the primary cause is excessive fatty tissue then liposuction is used to remove the excess fat. In extreme cases, where large amounts of fat or glandular tissue have been removed, skin may not adjust well to the new contour and therefore excess skin is removed to allow firm readjustment to the new contoured chest.

After surgery you will feel some discomfort for a few days and have swelling and bruising for a while. Most of this will dissipate within the first few weeks after your surgery. But you are encouraged to get back to you normal lifestyle and normal activity.
